Whole Chicken in Crock
This might be the easiest crock pot recipe...ever! Onions, seasoning, and chicken. It seriously takes 5 minutes to throw together. I have 2 recipes that I do, depends on what I'm feeling. I like this because we always have extra chicken for sandwhiches for lunch, and I'm using the extra chicken this week for my chicken noodle soup.
For the second recipe, I use Stubb's All-natural BBQ spice, which includes only 6 ingredients, all spices. A big plus of why I love this spice, as one of its ingredients is Ground Tumeric. If you've been seeing anything health-food related recently, you know that is some seriously powerful stuff. I haven't made anything with a lot of tumeric, since it's a spice I'm not all too familiar with the taste (I think a lot of Indian food uses it), so I'm all for adding small amounts in whenever I can.
Whole Chicken in a Crock Pot Recipe #1:
INGREDIENTS
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon thyme
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne (red) pepper
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 onion
1 large chicken
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine the dried spices in a small bowl.
Loosely chop the onion and place it in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Remove any giblets from the chicken and then rub the spice mixture all over. You can even put some of the spices inside the cavity and under the skin covering the breasts.
Put prepared chicken on top of the onions in the slow cooker, cover it, and turn it on to high. There is no need to add any liquid.
Cook for 4 – 5 hours on high (for a 3 or 4 pound chicken) or until the chicken is falling off the bone. Don't forget to make your homemade stock with the leftover bones!

1 onion
1 large chicken

OK, now that you've made your chicken... now save the bones (absolutely everything that's left in your crock pot) and make some healthy broth!
